Two Brothers. One Biomechanical Mission.

Our Clinical Roots

Founded in the Treatment Rooms of Takarazuka City

For more than twenty years, brothers Kenji Tanaka (PT, MSc) and Hiroshi Tanaka (DPT) operated a specialized musculoskeletal manual therapy clinic in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture. Day after day, they treated athletes recovering from torn anterior cruciate ligaments, senior citizens struggling with bone-on-bone knee osteoarthritis, and office workers crippled by lumbar disc bulges.

What frustrated both brothers was the post-clinic reality: patients would leave their clinic feeling pain-free, only to return a week later because commercial drug-store braces failed to provide adequate mechanical guidance. Cheap tubular fabric sleeves either pinched the popliteal crease or slid down the leg, providing nothing more than an illusion of warmth.

“We realized that patients don't just need exercises once a week. They need an external skeletal guide that intercepts joint shear force during the 8,000 steps they take every single day. That was the day ComfyPlus was born.”

KT

Kenji Tanaka, PT, MSc

Co-Founder • Lead Biomechanical Engineer

Specializing in patellofemoral mechanics and polycentric hinge dynamics. Kenji spent a decade collaborating with materials engineers in Osaka to calibrate the dual-axis elliptical tracks used in the Biaxial Hinged Knee Orthosis.

HT

Hiroshi Tanaka, DPT

Co-Founder • Neuromuscular & Spine Specialist

Focused on sensory proprioception, kinesiology wave-taping, and postural biofeedback. Hiroshi leads the patient sizing telephone verification protocol, ensuring zero misfit returns across all international dispatches.

Rigorous Laboratory Validation

ISO 13485 & CE Class I Standards

Every stitch, aluminum stay, and adhesive wave is manufactured under strict medical quality management systems. Before any ComfyPlus product enters clinical dispatch, it undergoes fatigue testing equivalent to over 100,000 steps under mechanical load.
